What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney - Workers' Compensation Defense position at Summers McDonnell Hudock Guthrie & Rauch PC?
This is a full-time position for a Worker's Compensation Attorney at Summers, McDonnell, Hudock, Guthrie & Rauch PC. The Attorney will be primarily responsible for defending Worker's Compensation claims, from initial investigation/filings through decision and the appellate process. Salary position, with benefits. While the preference is that an applicant resides within a reasonable range of the home offices in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, applicants from any location may apply, so long as they reside in Pennsylvania.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and Bar admission in Pennsylvania
- 0 -10 years experience handling worker's compensation claims
Responsibilities include:
- Managing workers’ compensation cases from initial claim through litigation and resolution
- Preparing pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
- Conducting depositions, hearings, and mediations
- Appearing before Workers’ Compensation Judges
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and medical providers
- Developing case strategy and providing timely case evaluations
