Job Summary
Local, family-owned business in the food industry for over 30 years seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in product organization and daily warehouse activities. This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment planning and coordinating warehouse shift operations for a beverage warehouse, production and distribution facility; ensuring that quality, safety, and production requirements are met or exceeded. Experience in food service warehouse management, food safety handling knowledge and dedication is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Directly oversee daily shift operations, including selection, shipping, receiving, cross-docking, and trailer loading operations.
- Lead & manage Warehouse Supervisors in the efficient and safe operation of warehouse activities.
- Take immediate action to resolve any problems that could impact daily labor standards & timely completion of shift requirements.
- Monitor labor standards daily and take appropriate action to ensure standards are achieved.
- Conduct performance management activities, including annual performance appraisals and designing training and career development plans.
- Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures.
- Inventory management and precision
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in administrative functions with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Sensitivity and judgment to handle and maintain confidential information
- Human Resources knowledge, environmental, health and safety knowledge and OSHA knowledge
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage a variety of duties requiring diverse skills, often under tight deadlines with little advance notice
- Must demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Effective problem-solving ability
- Active listening skills
- Effective oral/written communication skills
- Positive, approachable demeanor
- Previous experience in perishable warehouse or a related field is required.
- Ability to lift, bend and gently handle 25-60 lb finished cases of product
- Work inside freezer/refridgerated environment
