Summerfield Tea Bar is more than a boba shop – we’re a team-driven, customer-first brand known for our unique drinks, seasonal specials, and fast-paced, friendly service. We’re looking for positive, motivated, and hardworking individuals to join our front-of-house team as Baristas / Cashiers.
Position Summary
As a Barista / Cashier, you’ll be cross-trained in all front-of-house operations including order taking, customer interaction, drink making, and food preparation. You’ll be expected to master our drink recipes, multitask efficiently, and provide top-tier service while supporting your teammates.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Cashier Duties
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming experience.
- Upsell items and communicate promotions.
- Operate the Toast POS system: input orders, apply rewards, process discounts, void items, and handle cash.
- Maintain clear communication with both customers and team members.
- Offer polite farewells and ensure guest satisfaction before departure.
Drink Preparation
- Prepare all drink categories including Milk Teas, Fresh Teas, Hot Teas, House Specials, and Signature Snows.
- Follow drink and syrup recipes precisely using provided cheat sheets and sugar level charts.
- Monitor quality and consistency — especially ice, sweetness, and topping limits .
- Use and clean equipment properly: seal machine, steamer, blender, syrup stations, etc.
Cooking Duties
- Portion and fry food items (chicken, fries, tofu, mozzarella sticks) using proper timing and fryer guidelines.
- Season and plate items according to presentation standards and cheat sheet measurements.
- Maintain food safety and cleanliness in all cooking and prep areas.
Back of House & Prep
- Stock shelves and fridges with deliveries.
- Restock drinkware, utensils, food bags, and toppings.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
- Assist in prep: syrups, creme brulee cups, cutting tofu, and brewing teas.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience in food service or fast-paced customer service is a plus, but not required.
- Strong multitasking ability and willingness to learn all aspects of front and back-of-house duties.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Clear communication, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
