Compensation: $67,000 /- annually, based on experience

Position Summary
The Corporate Accountant manages the day-to-day accounting operations for Summerfield Real Estate Groups corporate entities. This role is responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, intercompany transactions, and month-end close activities.
The Corporate Accountant will maintain the books and financial records for multiple corporate entities within Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
This role works closely with the Managing Director and U.S.-based leadership team to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and effective financial oversight across all affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
Maintain the corporate general ledger for multiple entities within Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES)
Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified across entities
Prepare journal entries to record revenue, expense reclasses, accruals, and other accounting adjustments
Review incoming intercompany transactions for proper coding and prepare outgoing intercompany transactions for approval
Analyze general ledger activity and investigate unusual balances or discrepancies
Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis and maintain supporting documentation
Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and consolidation schedules with variance commentary
Month-End & Year-End Close
Conduct month-end and year-end close processes across multiple corporate entities
Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and work papers
Ensure all corporate accounting deadlines are consistently met
Assist with preparation and review of financial statements for corporate entities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper expense coding and approval
Review the collection of recoverable expenses charged to affiliated properties on a timely basis
Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items
Compliance & Controls
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation across all corporate entities
Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation to internal and external auditors
Support the development and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting standards
Process Improvement & Collaboration
Work with the Managing Director and senior leadership to improve accounting processes and implement financial controls
Collaborate with property accounting staff to resolve intercompany discrepancies and support corporate reporting
Prepare financial, accounting, and administrative reports as needed
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Bachelors degree or better in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field required
Experience
36 years of accounting experience
Significant hands-on experience maintaining books for multiple entities in Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) required
Experience performing full-cycle accounting including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Real estate, property management, or service-based industries is a plus
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial schedules
Professional Skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to manage multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Schedule & Remote Requirements
Must be willing to work a full-time schedule aligned with U.S. East Coast hours (9:00 AM 6:00 PM CST)
