WSSD Extended School Year School Counselor
The Extended School Year (ESY) Program is designed for students, ages 5-22, with significant needs. The school program has been designed to include academic instruction, community based instruction and recreational/socialization activities. The program will include weekly social skills training, crafts, indoor and outdoor games, and field trips. The program runs six hours (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) per day, four days a week, for five consecutive weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement social skills and counseling instructional program for students
- Progress monitoring and complete progress reports
- Communcation with parents and teachers throughout the program
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Level I or II certificate, preferably school psychologist or school counselor
- Wallingford-Swarthmore School District employee preferred
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Must be able to commit to all scheduled days; Prior experience preferred
Schedule:
- June 23 through July 24, 2025 (5 weeks); Monday through Thursday
- Up to 6 hours (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. per day-Secondary; 8:30am-2:30 pm per day - Elementary
- Note: There will be two mandatory orientation meetings prior to the start of the program, one is virtual and the other in person in June from 8:00 - 2:00.
Salary: $45.00 per hour
