Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
- Provide dental education to patients about procedures, oral hygiene, and post-treatment care.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure.
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments.
- Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic EMR systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to perform dental X-rays accurately and safely.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent patient service standards.
