Let's create-"a day in the life" of a Pottery instructor
As a part-time summer elementary pottery instructor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging pottery art classes to elementary school age children .
Each week, you will create age appropriate creative lesson plan that introduce children to fundamentals of working with clay and guide them through the process of creating their own unique pottery pieces using handbuilding ceramic technique.
How will you do that?
- Plan and execute engaging and age-appropriate ceramic art lessons for elementary school-aged children.
- Teach basic ceramic techniques -pinching pots, coiled pots, slab pots
- Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure a safe and organized working environment, and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials, and reorder as necessary.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to ensure a seamless and positive camp experience for all participants.
- Provide supervision and support during snack and lunch breaks, as well as during transition periods between classes.
Your potterqualifictaions will include
- Availability at least work through summer June 1st – August 7th – 5 days a week (Monday - Friday, Part- time )
- Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks)
- Previous experience teaching ceramic art is nice to have
- Demonstrated proficiency in ceramic techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner punctual and reliable
Must – Have
- Enrolled/ Completed an arts/ceramic certification course
