What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Summa Health?
Performs general office, sterilization and chairside duties in support of dental clinic and operatory functions.
- Currently enrolled in dental assisting program or has successfully completed a dental assisting program
- CDA certification preferred
- Current radiology certificate with Ohio Dental Board
- Chairside experience
- Experience scheduling appointments and collecting patient data
- Experience with equipment maintenance and inventory and ordering of supplies
- Experience developing digital x-rays and inputting them into computer
- Experience with dental software, Dentrix preferred.
- Excellent oral communication skills with ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and co-workers.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and office practice and procedures.
- Basic computer skills
- Experience entering patient data, appointments and treatment plans in computer
- Population Specific Competency: ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
