Job Summary

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Medical Science Liaison (MSL). The MSL will be responsible for integrating scientific expertise and knowledge with medical strategies to ensure successful implementation of Sumitomo Pharma America’s marketed and emerging product portfolio. This will be fulfilled mainly through the development of cohesive working relationships with key opinion leaders and regional clinicians of influence. Candidates with varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply. Final title and compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

This role will cover the Mid Atlantic region, including SC, NC, VA, MD, Washington DC, and TN.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Identify and engage national, regional, and local oncology thought leaders and HCPs.
• Serve as the primary scientific contact and build long-term peer to peer scientific relationships.
• Exchange scientific and technical information relevant to the company’s development portfolio.
• Support relationships between key opinion leaders and internal product teams.
• Educate priority HCPs on research and development initiatives.
• Gather medical insights to inform clinical and marketing strategies.
• Provide an overview of company areas of interest for investigator sponsored studies
• Contribute to internal educational activities and training.
• Represent the company at oncology conferences and scientific meetings.
• Lead relevant projects within the field medical organization.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Advanced degree (NP, PA, MD, PharmD, PhD) strongly preferred.
• Candidates without an advanced degree must have at least 5 years of MSL experience and 6–10 years of overall related experience.
• MSL experience or relationships with HCPs within the geography preferred.
• Generally, an MSL will require:
• 5 years of relevant scientific or clinical experience in oncology/hematology.
• Generally, a Sr. MSL will require:
• 5 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• 3 years of MSL experience in oncology/hematology.
  
  

Compensation

• MSL: $156,560 – $195,700
• Sr. MSL: $175,680 – $219,600
  
  

Final compensation and title will be based on experience and qualifications.

Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
