Summary
Characterization Technicians are responsible for measuring physical and electrical characteristics of epitaxial layers following growth. Characterization Technicians follow established procedures on routine work and receive little instruction on daily work requirements but may require instructions from supervisors on new processes. Characterization Technicians must be able to work independently.

Detailed Duties:
- Performing product inspections by operating (and calibrating as needed) all metrology equipment relevant to your area (non-destructive or destructive)

- Cassette transfer tool
- Vacuum sealer for product packaging
- Label maker for product package labeling

- Completing written and verbal passdowns between every shift
- Periodic cleaning of the characterization work areas / equipment
- Checking out supplies from the stockroom for the characterization labs and gowning rooms
- Following all safety procedures and wearing correct PPE
- Emptying hazardous and non-hazardous trash cans in the characterization work areas
- Maintaining equipment (simple activities)
- Performing basic trouble-shooting activities
- Other tasks as requested
- Possible shift ERT participation (optional)
Qualifications
- Strong communication

Physical Demands
- Noise levels low to moderate
- Must wear cleanroom gown, mask, gloves, hairnet, booties, safety glasses, etc.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time in a cleanroom environment with up to 12 hours of standing per shift
- Ability to discern and accurately measure small feature sizes, ~1mm in size
- Ability to move frequently between tools in cleanroom environment
- Ability to multitask and manage several processes at once
- Regular and consistent attendance at the office/fab
Work Environment
- Majority of time will be in the cleanroom
- Nights 112 hour shift, 6:00pm-6:30am, 3 days every other Saturday (Training Days 1 - 6:00 am - 6:30pm, Sunday - Tuesday every other Wednesday.
- Availability to work over-time (OT) occasionally
- Will handle a range of semiconductor chemicals and gases (hazardous materials)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $24.00 per hour
