This position is onsite Monday - Friday. 3pm-11pm
SUMMARY:
- Perform a wide range of machine, equipment, and building maintenance, repairs, installations, modifications, and general upkeep operations. Involves millwright, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, and painting procedures.
- Operate various welding and cutting equipment, lathes, millers, drill presses, shears, brakes and grinders to repair and/or manufacture equipment and replacement parts within the limits of equipment. Diagnose machine and equipment problems, tear down units, and determine extent of repairs necessary. Repair or replace worn or damaged parts, reassemble, and test. Occasionally layout and fabricate equipment or attachments. Work from sketches, blueprints, layout designs, or instructions.
- Make minor electrical repairs and replacements such as cleaning motors, changing electrical fuses or heaters, replacing motor bearings, removing, replacing and connecting motors.
- Operate, maintain and repair pallet trucks, forklifts, scissor lifts, manlifts, booms and other material handling equipment. Rig machinery. Level, align and secure equipment.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair boilers, air compressors, water/drain systems, steam/condensate systems, chillers, HVAC units and other facility utilities.
- Detect unusual conditions, defective materials, operating difficulties, or process upsets, and report to supervisor.
- Collect, segregate, and salvage as appropriate, bulk and drummed waste generated by plant operations. Prepare and load waste materials on trucks.
- Performs on-site material receiving. Loads and unloads trucks.
- Verifies bills of lading, packaging lists, and QI material dispositions. Assigns, Lots, and forwards paperwork. Rotates product for FIFO.
- Drive for routine errands.
- Responsible for recycling and storage of drums, cardboard, etc.
- Performs basic carpentry.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions such as filter changes, spill box inspection and refilling.
- Observe prescribed or necessary safety precautions and work according to good manufacturing and housekeeping practices. Implement and maintain 5S system in the plant. Including sorting, straightening, and cleaning activities. i.e vacuuming, equipment cleaning and inspection, and painting.
- Perform other related job duties as required or necessary.
Qualifications:
- Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years related experience
- Ability to perform advanced shop mathematics
- Ability to read and use complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas, and all varieties of precision measuring equipment.
