Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Summary

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs for a chemical manufacturing facility. The position requires extensive chemical industry experience and expert knowledge of Texas regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ compliance.

Duties

• · Lead EHS compliance programs for chemical manufacturing operations.

· Manage OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, DOT and related regulatory compliance activities.

· Oversee wastewater, air permitting, hazardous waste, and environmental reporting.

· Conduct audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.

· Support PSM, MOC, PHA and HAZOP activities.

· Manage SDS/GHS compliance and chemical inventories.

· Develop emergency response plans and training programs.

· Promote a culture of EHS excellence and continuous improvement.

· Recommend and develop changes in policies, procedures, work environment and equipment to minimize foreseeable risk in the work place.

· Conduct frequent walkthroughs of each production, warehouse and office are in the chemical facilities to identify and correct hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through personal interaction and education of all appropriate departments.

· Review new and current EHS and OSHA related legislation and evaluates the impact to the organization.

· Respond to SCC & DongWoo Fin Chem audits

· Work with all departments, management, and onsite vendors/suppliers regarding environment/safety requirements.

· Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.

· 10 years of progressive EHS experience within chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, specialty chemical, or semiconductor chemical operations.

· Extensive knowledge of Texas environmental and occupational safety regulations.

· Experience managing agency inspections and compliance programs.

· Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· CSP, CIH, CHMM, or PE certification.

· Responsible Care® and ISO 14001 experience.

· Semiconductor chemical manufacturing experience.

· Korean, Japanese, or Spanish language skills are a plus.

Physical Demands

· Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

· Must be able to move throughout all areas of the facility.

· Must be able to able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions. (helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, safety boots, respirator, gloves, etc.)

· Must be able to work near process equipment with hazardous chemicals.

· Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50bs.

· Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl.

· Must be able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.

· Must be able to reach outward or above the shoulder.

· Must be able to work in changing climate conditions.

· Must have normal range of hearing, vision, color discrimination and depth perception for proper operation of equipment.

· Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces.

· Manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment (i.e., repetitive hand/wrist, griping and elbow motion) required.

· Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance at the site.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
