Overview
The Quality Assurance Technician will report directly to the QA manager and perform manual and automated analysis on company products, calibrate analysis equipment, and ensure employees are following safety regulations. To ensure success as a QA technician, you should have sound knowledge of automated analysis procedures, a good eye for detail, and advanced problem-solving skills. Ultimately, a first-rate QA technician should be able to accurately identify production irregularities and maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Establish and revise technical standards and inspection standards regarding raw materials, process, and products.
· Establish and revise analysis-related standards.
· Manage Laboratory Information Management System and DP portal.
· Establish and follow a process for handling nonconforming products.
· Perform equipment purchase reviews and technical reviews.
· Evaluate analytical instruments/equipment and certify new technicians by evaluating their work.
· Submit analysis requests to external labs and manage their performance.
· Test new analysis tools.
· Determine and calculate Q-Cost and expenses.
· Provide emergency technical service and assess reliability.
· Manage LIMS requests and shipping.
· Review and aggregate data on production/abnormal products.
· Test and respond to irregular analysis requests.
· Review analysis methods of new product transfers and apply to work.
· Verify analysis method improvement plans and apply to work.
· Review and manage notifications regarding analysis requests, results, and revisions.
· Correct LIMS system errors
· Purchase and replace consumables.
· Manage consumable items.
· Manage analytical reagents.
· Change gas used for analysis.
· Manage calibration and maintenance of instruments.
· Manage STD substance.
· Schedule and perform Gage R&R
· Follow up on work related to setting up SST’s laboratory.
· Respond to quality-related parts of technology and package license analysis.
· Overall QA and analytic tasks.
· Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
· Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa.
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
· Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
· 3-5 years experience
· Must pass criminal background check.
· Must pass drug/alcohol/physical exam.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies.
· Ability to read, write and speak in English.
· Must possess basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various departments.
- Demonstrated ability to determine measurements, make calculations and read various instruments, gauges, and meters.
Preferred Qualifications
· Korean/Japanese language speaking and writing ability is a plus, but not necessary.
· Willingness to learn Korean.
· Experience in a chemical manufacturing plant for semiconductors.
· Basic understanding of purification and distillation process.
· Understanding of analysis) equipment and chemicals
· Prior experience analyzing chemicals and maintaining analysis equipment
· Prior experience working with both batch and continuous processes.
· Prior experience working on an Emergency Response Team (ERT).
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
· Experience in completing small routine maintenance tasks.
Physical Demands
· Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
· Must be able to move throughout all areas of the facility.
· Must be able to able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions. (helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, safety boots, respirator, gloves, etc.)
· Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50bs.
· Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl.
· Must be able to reach outward or above the shoulder
· Must have normal range of hearing, vision, color discrimination and depth perception for proper operation of equipment.
· Exposure to fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces.
· Manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment (i.e., repetitive hand/wrist, griping and elbow motion) required.
· Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance at the site.
Work Environment
- Analysis lab in Chemical Manufacturing Plant
- Ability to respond to emergencies and/or staffing shortages (on-call)
