Job Title: Senior Equipment Specialist


Modern Air Force missions depend on reliable, mission-ready electronic systems that protect personnel, installations, and operational capabilities around the globe. This position supports the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Electronic Systems Directorate (ES), Force Protection Division (ESS) by providing technical equipment, configuration management, logistics, and technical order support across a diverse portfolio of mission-critical electronic systems.

The Force Protection Division is responsible for the modernization, design, development, testing, fielding, and sustainment of hardware and software solutions that enhance the Air Force's force protection capabilities. Working alongside Government personnel, you will support the lifecycle management of these systems by ensuring configuration accuracy, technical data integrity, logistics readiness, and sustainment planning throughout acquisition and operational phases.

In this role, you will provide technical expertise supporting configuration management, technical orders, integrated logistics support, equipment management, and sustainment activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Review and recommend changes to system, development, and product specifications to ensure compliance with program requirements and technical standards.
  • Maintain engineering drawing packages, including revision management, distribution, and configuration control.
  • Provide technical analysis and support for fielded systems, depot activities, and modification programs.
  • Prepare and support Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) associated with configuration changes and inspection requirements.
  • Support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and related engineering review boards by coordinating Technical Order updates and maintaining change documentation.
  • Perform configuration management activities supporting engineering baselines, Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E), deficiency reports, AFTO 22s, AFTO 252s, and associated program metrics.
  • Process and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), deviation and waiver requests, Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs), service bulletins, Airworthiness Directive Notes, and other configuration control documentation.
  • Support Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), compliance reviews, and action item tracking.
  • Assist with Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and preparation of meeting documentation.
  • Support the transition and management of digital Technical Order systems.
  • Monitor modification parts lists, National Stock Number (NSN) records, and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) provisioning data.
  • Maintain Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) inventory records and support physical inventory activities.
  • Perform Technical Order validation and verification activities.
  • Provide technical maintenance and Technical Order support to field users through phone, email, meetings, and occasional on-site assistance.
  • Assist with Technical Order cataloging, lifecycle management planning, and documentation development.
  • Support integrated logistics activities including provisioning, maintenance planning, configuration management, source coding, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMS/MS) analysis, and alternate source identification.
  • Conduct Logistics Supportability Analysis to ensure equipment readiness and sustainment requirements are met.
  • Maintain system baselines, supplier information, and Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code records.
  • Utilize Government systems to monitor equipment readiness, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements to mission capability.
  • Support engineering and logistics teams throughout the acquisition, sustainment, and modernization lifecycle of electronic systems.


Required Skills/Education


Education: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field is preferred.

Years of Experience: Twelve (12) years of experience in the applicable technical or professional discipline, with at least five (5) years supporting Department of Defense programs, is highly desired.


Required Qualifications:


  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience supporting configuration management processes including Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), deviation and waiver requests, deficiency reporting, and AFTO 22/252 processing.
  • Experience supporting Technical Order development, validation, verification, lifecycle management, and digital Technical Order initiatives.
  • Knowledge of system baselines, engineering drawings, provisioning data, modification management, NSN/DLA processes, and configuration documentation.
  • Experience supporting integrated logistics, Operational Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E), provisioning, maintenance planning, DMS/MS mitigation, and readiness reporting.
  • Technical familiarity with range systems, radar systems, electronic systems, or related mission systems across acquisition and sustainment lifecycles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Government, contractor, and industry stakeholders.


Travel: Approximately 25%.


Security Clearance Required: Active Secret Security Clearance.

Salary Range: $95k - $110k Annually
