Job Title: Communications Focal Point (CFP) Technician
WAGE DETERMINATION CLASSIFICATION: Electronics Technician Maintenance III
JOB SUMMARY: Provides communications support for the 10th Communications Squadron on the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA).
PRIMARY DUTIES: Reports to the CFP lead, part of a support center team functioning as the single point of contact for USAFA customers. Receives communication equipment trouble calls over the phone, through email, Teams, or ticketing systems; and assigns work-order tickets to the applicable work center across multiple networks. Assists with updating all 10th Communications Squadron scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inputs data into multiple Government-provided databases. These databases include but are not limited to: Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS), Cherwell, Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), SharePoint, and ServiceNow. Utilizes Microsoft Office products to manage workflow.
SECONDARY DUTIES: Provides direct CFP support for the 10th Communications Squadron: Identifies communication issues and assigns the repair request to the appropriate technician and/or work center. Serves as liaison between work centers and external Air Force/Department of Defense cyber support organizations. Responsible for 10th Communications Squadron base announcements. Provides on-call/after-hours support as defined in the performance work statement (PWS).
EXPERIENCE: Five years of military/non-military equivalent communications technical experience in communications-electronics maintenance or information technology. IT help desk experience is preferred.
EDUCATION: An associates degree or equivalent experience in a communications-related career field is preferred.
REQUIREMENTS: A SECRET security clearance is required. A CompTIA SEC certification is required. Excellent verbal/written customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced military environment are required.
Position Type: Full Time
HOURLY RATE: $35.48 per SCA guidelines, you may be eligible for an additional $4.57 per hour for Health and Welfare, if you choose to waive company benefits.
