Job Summary
The Operations / Manufacturing / Production Specialist is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production or service operations to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality output. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
This job profile is intended for specialist professionals that apply advanced knowledge of a job area. Required to manage projects/processes independently with limited supervision. Typically coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.
This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large organization.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and improve production or service delivery processes to meet performance targets.
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and technical teams to ensure resource availability.
Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Support implementation of lean manufacturing or service excellence initiatives.
Maintain accurate documentation of processes, metrics, and compliance records.
Train and mentor junior staff on operational procedures and best practices.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Typically a University degree (or equivalent work experience) and at least 5–7 years of relevant experience (or equivalent skills) are minimally required to carry out the role.
Strong understanding of production/service operations and process optimization.
Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience with lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
