This role is responsible for material movement, general shop support, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives. The Utility plays a key role in ensuring efficient workflow, workplace safety, and adherence to Lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the machine shop, including workstations, aisles, and common areas
- Safely transport parts, materials, and tooling to and from designated locations using forklifts or other material-handling equipment
- Support machine shop operations by staging materials, removing scrap, and assisting with general utility tasks as needed
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a safe working environment
- Actively practice Lean manufacturing principles in daily work and participate in Lean or continuous improvement events
- Proactively support company initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely material movement
