About The Role
Job Summary
An Automated Inspection Technician operates a 3D scanning system and other automated systems, performs precision measurements, and supports inspection data processing in accordance with established procedures while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate automated inspection systems to perform dimensional inspections of components in accordance with approved procedures.
- Execute inspection routines and programs developed and released by engineering.
- Set up components, fixtures, and tooling required for automated and manual inspections.
- Perform manual dimensional inspections using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, and similar tools.
- Verify inspection results against drawings, work instructions, and engineering criteria.
- Identify out‑of‑tolerance conditions or abnormal results and escalate findings to engineering or quality personnel as required.
- Support operation of other automated or semi‑automated repair tools within the component division.
- Maintain inspection equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
- Track calibration status of inspection and measurement equipment, maintain calibration records, and coordinate or schedule calibrations as required to ensure compliance with quality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field preferred.
- Have exposure to precision hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, etc.)
- Have been exposed to, or willing to learn digital equipment like 3D scanning and 3D inspection.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, for data entry, basic analysis, documentation, and reporting.
- Make logical decisions and provide inspection feedback to engineers and technicians
- Be proactive and solution oriented.
- Be familiar with CAD and technical drawings.
- Have clear communication, both written and oral.
- Be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
