Job Description
For over 35 years, Sullivan Process Controls has been manufacturing and servicing control valves & instrumentation for the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power and General Industries markets. We are currently seeking the following position to join our team in Haughton, Louisiana.

BLAST/PREP:

  • Pull and prepare all parts according to specified work order for powder coating and painting (including, but not limited to washing, degreasing, sand blasting, taping, etc.).
  • Ensure all parts are accounted and ready for Assembly Technician for specified work order.
  • Take painted parts to assembly area.
  • Ensure quality standards and processes are met according to company policies.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are met to assure a safe work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

PAINTING/POWDERCOATING:

  • Prepare parts for coating.
  • Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application.
  • Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth collection systems.
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects.
  • Determine coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using coating thickness guage.
  • Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations.
  • Knowledge of thermosetting powder coatings, wash, and pretreatments.
  • Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance.
  • Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout facility.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment.
  • Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures.
  • Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of coating equipment.
  • Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
  • Follow all principles and practices of painting and blasting, including prepping parts for coating and operating all equipment including paint guns, hoppers and booth collection systems.
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects.
  • Determine quality by performing visual inspections or by using coating thickness gage.
  • Ensure that all components are produced/painted/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance.
  • Ensure quality standards/processes and safety guidelines are used throughout facility.
  • Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

Required Skills/Experience

  • 2-3 years' experience painting/blasting, in manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude a must
  • Forklift experience/certification a plus
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment regularly.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to: safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots and other equipment regularly.
  • Ability to lift/move up to pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily/regularly.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the technician is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and electrical equipment in both high and low voltage/amperage ranges, and occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasional high.
