Sweet Group of New York is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our 114-year-old New York-based general contracting and construction management firm. Sweet provides the full spectrum of design-build, infrastructure, disaster response, and health facility services. As a leader in the construction industry, Sweet Group and SLS Northeast serve all levels and sectors of government and private industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support all subcontractor and subconsultant purchasing needs for multiple projects
- Work with assigned project managers and designated staff through the subcontractor approval process
- Develop scopes of works and leveling sheets for subcontractors
- Draft subcontractor agreements
- Liaise with legal division to review and finalize subcontract documents prior to subcontract execution
- Support Contracts Manager as needed on any requirements for post-award documentation related to subcontractor purchasing
- Experience with successful sourcing of construction materials from different vendors
- Support leadership with various daily task execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing/subcontractor procurement
- Able to read and understand construction drawings
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to understand implied scope that is not listed in construction documents
- Excellent data management skills
- Must be adaptable and be able to solve problems
- Must be able to work in a team
- Must be transparent with the team in all areas of solicitation, leveling, and buys
- Must work full-time in the NYC Office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- City, State or Federal contract management a plus
- Experience with complex project contracts and experience with management of multi-million-dollar projects a plus
