Assistant Project Manager

Maximum Security Products Corp. (MSP) is a Waterford, NY-based Detention Equipment and Miscellaneous Steel contractor and manufacturer. MSP is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join their team. The APM will be responsible for either one or multiple projects and manage all interactions with internal and external stakeholders including the client. The APM will also manage day to day execution of the project through all phases from initial startup, design and engineering, construction management, change management, closeout, commissioning, and warranty work. The APM will be responsible to a Project Executive for the profit and loss of each individual project and/or portfolio of multiple projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as Assistant Project Manager reporting to the Project Manager, unless otherwise directed by the Division President. 
• Support the PM and maintain a healthy client relationship while protecting company interests.
• Act in the role of Project Manager during his/her absence or during a vacancy in that position. 
• Assist PM with scheduling.
• Assist in negotiating and executing contracts and purchase orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Communicate frequently and effectively to ensure the project team is well-informed.
• Prepare and maintain submittal logs. 
• Prepare clearance forms for entry into secure facilities. 
• Help manage Safety Program. 
• Travel to job sites, collect information and measurements as required. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• A.S. in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction required.
• Two years’ experience in construction. 
• Familiar with reading construction drawings and specifications. 
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English required.
• Ability to successfully pass background/security check required.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office is required. 
• Must be organized and a team player. 

Physical Demands:

• Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
• Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
• Occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
• Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
• Ability to work outside in and around construction sites safely.
