QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- A degree in Healthcare Administration or other Healthcare-related degree required.
Experience/Skills
- Knowledge of the healthcare field
- Refined organizational and data abstraction skills which are typically acquired through experience gained in a clerical position within a healthcare setting.
- Adept at medical terminology, processes, and hospital-setting functions.
- Possess strong customer service skills, excellent communication, and attention to detail.
- Possess excellent telephone etiquette skills.
- Proficient in Windows-based operating software/systems
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate high level of emotional intelligence during daily duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform a wide range of tasks.

ROUTINE RESPONSIBILITIES
Behavioral Expectations

Medical Staff Duties:
- Establishes annual calendar for medical staff committee and medical staff (as a whole) meetings.
- Communicates meeting schedule to all parties, as needed.
- Initiates expired patient chart review for providers.
- Prepares 30-day readmission data for committee review.
- Prepares quarterly reports for committee review.
- Gather reports from all sources and prepares packets for committee meetings.
- Acts as a facilitator during medical staff committee and medical staff (as a whole) meetings.
- Records minutes and prepares written documents of all committee meetings which meet QI/PI/Peer Review requirements.
- Ensure that items discussed and/or approved are communicated to the director, or designee, via email.
- Provides synopsis of medical staff as a whole meeting to administration for Board of Trustees meeting.
- Maintains records of all meetings for review by various regulatory agencies.
- Facilitates Medical Staff Bylaws review on a triennial basis.
- Facilitates annual Chiefs of Service, Chief of Staff, and Committee Chair appointments.
- Ensures contract services are approved by medical staff annually.
- Assists in identifying trends, establishing priorities and recommendations for improvement activities.
- Educates and trains staff according to the quality improvement pla., federal and state laws and regulations and accreditation standards.
- Participated in idea development and data abstraction for grant writing or other funding opportunities.
- Communicates information to IT.
Data Abstraction Duties:
- Abstracts demographic and clinical data in preparation for chart audits for the inpatient and outpatient reporting programs.
- Works closely with the Director of Quality to ensure that all data elements have been pulled for various required submissions.
Other Duties:
- Actively assists in continuous survey readiness and regulatory surveys.
- Assists the Director of Quality with routine duties.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
