QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA preferred but not required
Experience/Skills
- Possesses at least five years’ experience as a CFO or equivalent, preferably in a non-profit organization
- Has experience in senior financial-management and in executive staff partnerships that result in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies
- Works in collaboration with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages
- Critical Access Hospital experience preferred but not required
- Possesses excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills
- Demonstrates significant experience in–or knowledge of–nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting
- Practices professional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Successfully manages multiple projects simultaneously

Job Duties/Managing
- Effectively administers, coordinates and controls hospital fiscal services
- Plans and manages the annual financial audit and cost report preparation
- Prepare and maintains regular financial planning reports
- Oversees financing strategies and banking relationships
- Oversees cash, investment, and asset management
- Develops and uses forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans
- Completes analysis of financial results and makes strategic and tactical recommendations
- Oversees weekly cash management
- Oversees Accounts Receivable management and provides support to collections activities
- Assists with development of new business initiatives
Job Duties/Planning & Analysis
- Engages the Personnel/Finance Committee of the Board of Directors to develop short, medium, and long range financial strategies
- Plans and develops the annual operating and capital budget
- Participates in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team
- Manages the organization’s insurance program (i.e., malpractice, liability, etc.)
- Manages the company’s real estate affairs consisting of leases and sub-leases together with the Chief Executive Officer
