The Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association is the destination marketing organization for Sullivan County, New York. We share meaningful stories about the region through our here editorial platform, website and social channels.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on designer/content creator to keep our social channels fresh, visual, and engaging. You'll design & produce carousels and static posts, shoot and edit short-form video on location with your phone, write captions in our brand voice, and help manage day-to-day community engagement. This is a great fit for someone who loves being out in the field capturing content as much as they love editing the content.
What You'll Do
- Design on-brand carousels, static posts, and graphics for Instagram, Facebook, and other channels.
- Shoot footage with your smartphone and edit vertical, short-form reels, including UGC-style content.
- Travel to partner businesses, events, and locations across Sullivan County to capture original photo and video content.
- Write engaging, on-voice captions and copy that fit the brand.
- Monitor comments and DMs, respond to community engagement, and flag opportunities or issues to the Media Manager.
- Organize and tag finished assets in our digital asset management system
- Collaborate with the Media Manager, social media agency partners, and marketing leadership on content calendars
What You Bring
- A portfolio showing social media design work and short-form video/reels (please include links or samples).
- Comfort filming and basic editing on a smartphone- stable footage, good composition, natural light awareness.
- Working knowledge of design & editing software.
- A self-directed, reliable working style; comfortable traveling locally and working some flexible or event-based hours.
- Reliable transportation within Sullivan County.
- Local knowledge of Sullivan County/the Catskills.
Details
- Schedule: Part-time / contract, with flexible and occasional evening or weekend hours for events.
- Location: Sullivan County, NY- flexible on-site travel to shoot content required.
- Reports to: Director of Brand & Digital Content
Pay: $500.00 - $700.00 per week
