Sullivan BOCES is seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to serve as the CTE Assistant Principal. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills and will provide essential administrative support to the Principal and Career & Technical Education programs. Responsibilities include serving as acting principal in the principal's absence, addressing student discipline matters, maintaining and evaluating student records and transcripts, and supervising students during all educational activities. The Assistant Principal will also observe classroom instruction and provide feedback to the Principal regarding staff performance, assist in the hiring process, support the planning and implementation of professional development, contribute to curriculum development, monitor instructional delivery, and serve as a liaison to parents, component school districts, and community or county organizations as assigned.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Proven ability to serve as an effective educational leader in working with both students and staff.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting and motivating challenging students to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Maintain a strong student-centered focus in all responsibilities.

  • Be proficient in relevant computer applications and technology tools.

  • Effectively prioritize tasks to meet schedules and timelines, ensuring timely follow-through and completion of assigned duties.

  • Apply sound knowledge and judgment in interpreting and implementing agency policies and procedures.

  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive matters.

  • Demonstrate confidence and skill in delivering oral presentations to large groups.

  • Work effectively with minimal supervision, showing initiative in problem-solving and project management.

  • Remain adaptable and composed under pressure and during emergencies.

  • Be available to work a flexible and extended schedule across multiple locations as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
