Suite Life Pet Resort is GROWING and we ready to add a dedicated "Group Play Supervisor" to our dog daycare program!
Schedule & Hours
- Shift: Monday through Friday.
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Availability: Occasional holiday and weekend coverage may still be required depending on facility needs.
Job Summary
The Group Play Supervisor oversees off-leash dog playgroups during the day. This role combines canine behavior knowledge with interactive enrichment programming and client consultations to match dogs with the best facility services.
Core Responsibilities
Enrichment & Activity Management
- Design and lead activities: Run specialized canine enrichment sessions to keep dogs mentally stimulated.
- Set up and decorate: Prepare, organize, and visually decorate themed enrichment activity spaces.
- Promote and upsell programs: Talk directly with dog owners to recommend the best custom programs for their pets' specific behavioral needs.
Pack Management & Safety
- Monitor play dynamics: Track canine body language constantly to prevent conflicts and keep play stress levels low.
- Redirect undesirable behaviors: Step in confidently using positive reinforcement and redirection methods.
- Manage dog introductions: Evaluate and safely integrate new dogs or rotating packs into social groups.
- Administer first aid: Provide immediate basic medical attention to dogs if minor injuries or emergencies occur.
- Isolate medical issues: Identify and quarantine pets showing signs of illness like vomiting or coughing.
Facility Sanitation & Maintenance
- Maintain playroom hygiene: Ensure consistent clean-up of dog waste, messes, and spills during play.
- Enforce deep cleaning: Direct the afternoon disinfecting of play yards, kennels, and water bowls before closing your shift.
- Audit safety hazards: Inspect fencing, play equipment, and gates regularly for structural defects.
- Track inventory supplies: Monitor stock levels of cleaning chemicals, poop bags, and enrichment materials.
Client Communication
- Provide health updates: Inform pet parents about behavioral developments, minor injuries, or medical updates.
- Resolve client issues: Address customer concerns professionally regarding injuries, billing, or policies.
Job Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Experience: 6mos of On-the-job dog group play supervision in a dog daycare setting.
- Sales & Consultation: Experience or comfort in speaking with clients, upselling services, or customer service.
- Behavior knowledge: Advanced understanding of canine body language, pack dynamics, and structural play.
- Physical stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Weather resilience: Ability to work comfortably outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Schedule commitment: Dependable attendance for the standard Mon–Fri, 8–4 hours with flexibility for occasional holiday/weekend needs.
