Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Infusion Nurse role based in Westfield, MA. The Infusion Nurse will prepare, start, monitor, and discontinue IV infusions, ensuring safe administration of medications and fluids according to provider orders and clinical protocols. Daily responsibilities include assessing patients before, during, and after infusions, documenting all care accurately, and responding promptly to any adverse reactions. The nurse will educate patients and families about treatment plans, infusion procedures, potential side effects, and home care instructions. The role also involves coordinating with providers and support staff, maintaining infusion supplies and equipment, and upholding infection control and safety standards in the infusion suite’s spa-like setting.
Qualifications
- Clinical nursing expertise, including Nursing and Direct Patient Care skills, with the ability to perform comprehensive assessments and IV therapy.
- Knowledge of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine principles relevant to infusion therapy, including monitoring for and responding to infusion reactions.
- Experience or familiarity with Home Infusion practices, patient education for at-home care, and coordination of follow-up treatment.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in IV insertion, vascular access device management, and medication administration via infusion pumps.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Prior infusion center, oncology, emergency, or critical care experience is highly beneficial.
