Job Title: Asphalt Plant Maintenance Laborer

Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction, maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Asphalt Plant Laborers. The ideal candidate will be responsible to set up, mechanically maintain and operate various pieces of equipment with the ability to labor throughout the day.

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with safety rules, always maintaining safe work practices and operating procedures. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit-Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

• Operate Plant Crusher and Equipment associated with the manufacturing process
• Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner
• Varying types of work including plant maintenance, shoveling, raking and moving material
• Basic troubleshooting
• Daily Inspection and Documentation of Equipment and Work areas, notifying Management of any concerns or deficiencies.
• Cross train within other aspects of the plant, Truck loading, Etc.
• Operate small equipment as needed (i.e. Skidsteer, fork lift, etc.)

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Willingness to obtain company provided forklift training
• Reliable transportation to and from work site
• Strong work ethic

• Physical Organization and time management
• This is a seasonal position. Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday, Overtime as required. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
• Unafraid of heights

• Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
• Consent to a DMV license evaluation
• Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and MSHA Training

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

• Must be able to work in a noisy area
• Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:

• Ability to read and understand SDS
• Ability to work in all types of weather
• Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred
• Prior laborer/maintenance experience preferred
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• High school diploma or GED - a two-year technical degree is preferred
• Basic math skills

Salary Range: $20-$22
