Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support our warehouse operations. This role is responsible for coordinating daily shipments, preparing outbound orders, maintaining accurate system records, and ensuring shipping activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and customer requirements. The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in supporting production, inventory accuracy, and on-time customer deliveries in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate daily outbound shipments and carrier pick-ups.
- Pack and prepare outbound shipments in accordance with customer and internal packaging requirements.
- Generate shipping documentation including box labels, UPS and FedEx labels, manifests, and bills of lading using multiple systems.
- Create and manage Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) based on customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate ERP system records, including sales orders and shipping transactions.
- Ensure packaging materials are stocked and available to support production and shipping needs.
- Build boxes and crates according to customer specifications.
- Operate digital scales to accurately weigh products prior to shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety standards.
- Meet production, quality, and safety expectations established by management.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to support timely and accurate shipments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain).
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments.
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand basic measurements.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as drills, hammers, and cutters.
- Experience working with ERP systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time).
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds safely.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements and manual handling tasks throughout the shift.
