What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marina Assistant General Manager position at Sugar Hollow Marina?
Facilities and Operations
- Assist in establishing an operating plan and submit for approval an associated budget that ensures the operations remains in compliance with established policies and procedures, maintains proper staff level, and consistently meets or exceeds approved objectives and budgets.
- Fully utilize standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and familiar service for the operations. Local procedures to overcome operational challenges and nuances.
- Properly implement and execute customer greeting and salutation procedures, safe boarding and disembarking, parking plans, hours of operation, flow of operation, fueling, repair, maintenance, mitigation of unsafe boating areas, and other similar operational issues for our rental fleet.
- Proactively work with property supervisors and other team members to ensure goals are met.
- Ensure team members properly maintain, clean and perform safety checks on the rental equipment.
- Maintain and secure an adequate level of replacement parts and supplies.
- Become proficient at using our various systems, including dockside transaction processing, reservations, fleet management, inventory management and more
- Assist with keeping policy manuals current.
- Collaborate with our marketing team to maximize sales through operational excellence.
- Provide exceptional service to our guests/customers.
- Assist in producing various operational metrics for presentation in company performance management meetings
- Assist in direct oversight of the fuel dock, ship store, and restaurant operations.
Fleet and Maintenance
- Maintain an impeccable fleet: fully functioning, clean, and in ship-shape condition.
- Constantly evaluate boat model mix to maximize guest preferences and area applicability.
- Establish a maintenance schedule for each vessel that balances fleet quality with boat availability.
- Coordinate new and retired vessel movements with local dock managers and staff.
Restaurant and Retail Operations
- Oversight of restaurant and bar operations and its supervisor.
- Assist with menu options and drink menuing.
- Assist in inventory control over all retail, food, and beverage.
Growth and Networking
- Promote positive working relationships with local marine industry professionals.
- Become familiar with the local market, waterways and popular boating destinations
- Actively engage in the analysis and recommendation of new service offerings, and other growth opportunities
