What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fork Lift Operator position at SUGAR FOODS LLC?
FORK LIFT OPERATOR
General Purpose: Safely operate a forklift to move and build pallets in preparation for product shipment
Essential Functions:
- Review daily schedule and report to work area
- Preform forklift pre-inspections and report operational problems to the Team Leader
- Operate forklift in compliance with proper operating instructions and safety procedures
- Refuel forklift at end of shift and/or as needed
- Troubleshoot minor forklift operation issues and make adjustments
- Locate and retrieve products to build pallets manually and/or with forklift in preparation for shipping
- Move pallets with forklift to staging area
- May use electric or manual pallet jack to move products
- Gather and assemble specific customer orders
- Manually lift boxes ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 80 lbs. to build approximately 28 pallets per day
- Use shrink wrapping machine to prepare pallets for shipping
- Palletize boxes maintaining a pace commensurate with daily schedule
- Utilize scanner to locate inventory and maintain inventory tracking
- Place proper labels on pallets and boxes according to company procedure
- Perform work in a fast paced environment, maintain production and quality requirements
- Maintain proper housekeeping of area and equipment
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/ License/Certification:
- Forklift Certification
- Pallet jack certification
