We seek a reliable and enthusiastic Shift Lead/Assistant to join our team and support the Store Manager in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Operations:
- Assist the Store Manager in opening and closing the store.
- Ensure all store procedures are followed correctly during shifts.
- Lock up the store securely at the end of the day.
- Follow the closing managerial checklist.
Cash Handling:
- Count the cash drawer accurately at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Perform end-of-the-night drops and ensure all financial records are accurate andsecure.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with a high level of accuracy.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise Counter Associates during shifts.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service.
- Train new Counter Associates and assist in ongoing training for current staff.
- Motivate staff to succeed and maintain a positive attitude.
Customer Service:
- Assist customers with their purchases and provide recommendations.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
- Promote and upsell bakery items to enhance customer satisfaction and increasesales.
- Become knowledgeable of the menu.
Stocking & Inventory:
- Oversee the restocking of display cases and shelves.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or issues to the StoreManager.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
- Ensure the store is clean and sanitary, including counters and seating area.
- Oversee the cleaning of dishes, utensils, and bakery equipment.
- Ensure garbage and recyclables are taken out regularly.
Professionalism & Representation:
- Represent Sugar Bliss positively to customers and the community.
- Adhere to company policies and dress code.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude and work ethic at all times.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
- Assist in other areas of the bakery as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; some college education is preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, preferably in a bakery or foodservice environment.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent follow-up skills.
