Sugar And Scribe in La Jolla, CA is looking for one sous Professional Seasoned Expo- to join our 47 person strong team. We are located on 7660 Fay Ave Suite I. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working. 6:30-3pm, Monday / Thursday / Friday/ Saturday / Sunday
You are required to do ordering on Sundays and Mondays
$22 Hourly plus Tip Pool plus Shift Meal
Company Policy regarding call outs & tardiness- are strict.
Must be able to lift and carry 50lb bag and stand 7.5 hours
Must wear non-slips
Responsibilities
Must Have Food Handlers Certificate
This is a HIGH. FAST. Kitchen- please only apply if you are experienced- this is a 40 hour position.
- Food preparation: Prepare ingredients and dishes, and design new menus
- Kitchen management: Oversee kitchen operations, including opening and closing duties
- Staff management: Plan and assign duties, train new staff, and resolve conflicts
- Inventory: Maintain inventory levels and ensure there are enough ingredients of the right quality
- Safety and sanitation: Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized, and that safety precautions are in place
- Equipment: Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order and that staff know how to use it
- Quality control: Ensure food preparation is economical and meets quality standards
- Communication: Communicate relevant information to kitchen staff, such as daily specials and shift priorities
- Managing orders: Ensuring orders are accurate, and that they are served in the correct order
- Communicating: Relaying information between the kitchen, service staff, and managers
- Plating: Ensuring dishes are plated correctly and meet the guest's specifications
- Sanitation: Maintaining sanitation standards for the kitchen and waitstaff
- Customer service: Addressing customer complaints and finding solutions
- Food knowledge: Having a thorough knowledge of the menu and preparation methods
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years experience fast paced dining, expo experience, strong line & prep skills
