Position Summary
Suffolk Transportation is seeking an IT Specialist responsible for cybersecurity, network and
fiber infrastructure, and hands-on end-user support across office and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity & Systems Protection
• Monitor and maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, MFA, and email security.
• Respond to security incidents, alerts, and potential threats.
• Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.
Network & Fiber Infrastructure
• Support fiber, structured cabling, switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot network outages and performance issues.
• Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for installs and repairs.
End-User Support
• Provide desktop, laptop, printer, and application support.
• Support Windows OS, Microsoft 365, email, and VoIP phones.
• Onboard and offboard users, including training and access provisioning.
Required Qualifications:
• 3 years of IT support experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience in fiber or structured cabling environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Cybersecurity experience and CompTIA certifications (A , Network , Security ).
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and PowerShell scripting.
