Position Overview


Suffolk Technologies is seeking a Community Marketing Manager to lead content strategy, public relations, events, and portfolio marketing initiatives. This role is pivotal in amplifying our thought leadership, strengthening our brand presence, and deepening engagement with founders, investors, and industry stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will own content strategy and execution across our newsletter, LinkedIn, email campaigns, and event communications – ensuring consistent, compelling storytelling that reflects our mission and impact in the built world.


Responsibilities


Content Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that drives engagement across Suffolk Technologies’
  • platforms, including website, newsletters, LinkedIn, email campaigns, event promotions, and
  • our internal community network.
  • Manage the content calendar to maintain a consistent cadence of high-quality, relevant
  • content aligned with industry trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to source and produce content such as
  • interviews, case studies, and founder stories.

Public Relations & Media Engagement

  • Support media outreach and press initiatives related to portfolio company funding
  • announcements, firm news, and thought leadership.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and coordinate with PR partners to enhance brand visibility
  • Identify and pursue speaking, award, and publication opportunities for the Suffolk Technologies team.

Portfolio Company Support

  • Partner with portfolio founders and marketing teams to promote key milestones such as
  • funding announcements, product launches, and media features.
  • Develop and guide case studies and pilot write-ups for distribution to operating partners.
  • Provide light-touch marketing guidance and resources to help portfolio companies amplify
  • their visibility within the Suffolk Technologies network.
  • Highlight portfolio success stories through newsletters, content features, and events to
  • showcase ecosystem impact.

Community Engagement & Analytics

  • Monitor and analyze content performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations
  • for continuous improvement.
  • Engage with our online community through thoughtful responses, conversation building, and amplification of key content.

Event Management & Marketing

  • Establish annual objectives and drive an event strategy that aligns partners, sponsors,
  • locations, and formats to achieve clear outcomes.
  • Support content creation, promotion, and logistics for in-person and virtual events hosted or
  • sponsored by Suffolk Technologies.
  • Develop post-event recaps, highlight reels, and follow-up campaigns to sustain engagement
  • after key events.
  • Track and report event ROI, measuring impact on brand awareness and community growth.


Qualifications


  • 4-6 years of experience in content marketing, communications, or community engagement –
  • ideally within venture capital, technology, or startups.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across digital formats.
  • Proficiency in content creation and management systems (e.g., Mailchimp, LinkedIn Analytics,
  • Riverside FM, Canva).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple
  • initiatives simultaneously.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and supporting
  • founders.
