We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner (answering phones and directing calls to appropriate staff, scanning and entering paperwork in patient charts, logging patient and clinical information properly, etc.)
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff (vitals, phlebotomy, documenting patient information in patient chart, etc.)
- Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures and patient eligibility
- Escort patients to exam rooms
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a large Spanish speaking clientele
- Willing to work with both adults and children if we are ever short staffed - MUST have a friendly and warm disposition and MUST feel comfortable answering phones and greeting patients AND dealing directly with patients and their families when taking their vitals, recording their medical history and drawing their blood.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
