Job Summary
The Suffolk County Department of Health Services is seeking a motivated Contracts Technician to join its team. The position will join our established team working on the Suffolk County Septic Improvement Program. Specifically, this position will support the Contracts Unit with the issuance and execution of grant contracts for homeowners applying for grant funding to upgrade their sanitary system with a nitrogen-reducing wastewater treatment system.
Responsibilities
Job duties include the following:
- Reviewing grant application documents
- Monitoring grant contracts
- Utilizing spreadsheets and computer databases
- Communication with the public by phone and by e-mail.
Minimum qualifications include graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and three (3) years of experience in maintaining financial records, accounts, or journals; and budgeting or contract and/or claims processing, one (1) year of which must have involved contracts review, preparation, interpretation, or administration. Candidate must take the Civil Service Exam, when available.
