Duties
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and cooperation
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture detailed images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow
- Adjust equipment settings to optimize image quality based on the specific diagnostic requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret imaging results and assist in diagnosis
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, images, and patient information in compliance with privacy regulations
- Ensure all ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for use
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and infection control standards throughout all procedures
Requirements
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential from an accredited organization
- Proven experience operating various ultrasound modalities, including breast, abdominal, thyroid, etc.
- Vascular US and Biopsy a plus
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic imaging
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and patient privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA)
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and handle multiple cases effectively
