Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our fabrication shop team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and applying coatings to structural steel and fabricated components while maintaining high-quality standards and safety practices.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal surfaces for painting (cleaning, grinding, sandblasting as needed)
- Apply primers, paints, and coatings using spray equipment, brushes, or rollers
- Mix and match paint to required specifications
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure proper coating thickness and quality
- Maintain painting equipment and keep work area clean
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
- Work with shop team to meet production deadlines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an industrial or shop painter preferred
- Knowledge of different coating systems (epoxy, urethane, etc.)
- Ability to use airless and conventional spray equipment
- Basic understanding of surface prep and finishing techniques
- Ability to read and follow work instructions or drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with structural steel or heavy fabrication
- Familiarity with blast and paint processes
- Forklift or overhead crane experience (a plus)
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
