Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk.
- Utilize custodial tools and equipment to dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish surfaces efficiently.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by disinfecting surfaces and waste disposal in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting to support overall building upkeep.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any cleaning-related concerns promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Experience handling cleaning chemicals and operating commercial cleaning equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing, polishing, and using floor buffers is a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning procedures or residential painting can be advantageous.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to chemical handling and facilities maintenance.
- Previous porter or maintenance experience will be considered an asset for this role.
