Position Title: Michigan Certified Teacher

Reports to: Center Director

Location: Flexible and Individualized

Position works on-site at our center in Wyoming, MI, and Hybrid working from home AND at the center on pre-scheduled days per week.

Hours: Full - Time (Monday - Friday)

School Year Position (Summer hours available if desired)

Salary: Starts at $45,000 (Depending on experience and education) with steps and bonus potential- plus full public school benefits:

Primary Function: Being a teacher at Success is very different than most teaching jobs. At Success teachers truly get to interact with kids without bells or lesson time constraints. Teachers have time to actually do what they became teachers for,- to make a difference in kids’ lives. Our small caseloads (⅓ of the kids teachers have in traditional schools) allow the time for relationships and enhanced learning. Imagine teaching students who are CHOOSING to attend and want to earn their high school diploma. It's a refreshing change and one that our teachers love. The primary function of the on-site virtual education teacher is to foster learning for all students enrolled at our Wyoming location. The teacher’s job is to develop meaningful relationships with Success students and motivate all students to be successful in their coursework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teacher duties may include but are not limited to supporting and accessing students, managing the progress report, and staying in contact with students in the program.

• Must be efficient with Google Docs. Teachers will be in charge of a weekly progress report, metric reports, and reports to the Center Director.
• Success Virtual Learning Teachers are the first point of contact for all students. Teachers are the main motivational coaches for their caseload of students.
• Have multiple conversations with students each week, especially students that choose not to attend in person in the learning center.
• Assist Center Directors as necessary.
• Teachers enroll all prospective students. Teachers must be strong customer service leaders for students, families, and community members.
• Be active in all professional development sessions, in-service learning opportunities, and objectives.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid State of Michigan Teacher High School Certification
• Experience and training which provide the following abilities, skills, and knowledge:
• Experience/skills with computer and computer software programs like Google Drive, PowerSchool, and student management systems are a plus.
• Ability to initiate and complete tasks with self-direction on time.
• Demonstrated understanding of the use of technology in both instructional and operational settings.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills include speaking clearly and concisely in oral and written communications.
• Must exhibit a pleasant personality and positive attitude toward working with administration, staff, and community members. Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
• Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
• The teacher applicant must be a self-starter and independent thinker. It is essential in this position that the candidate is a very strong problem solver. This position requires the teacher to make decisions without being directed to do so.
