Fiber Support Lineman / Bucket Truck Operator

Position Summary

The Fiber Support Lineman / Bucket Truck Operator provides field support for fiber optic

infrastructure audit and inspection activities. Working alongside Fiber Audit Technicians, this

position is responsible for safely operating bucket trucks, accessing aerial telecommunications

infrastructure, supporting field operations, and assisting with the safe execution of inspection

activities.

Primary Responsibilities

Bucket Truck Operations

  • Safely operate bucket trucks and associated equipment.
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
  • Position vehicles and equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Establish and maintain safe work zones and traffic control measures.
  • Operate aerial lift equipment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

Field Support

  • Assist Fiber Audit Technicians in accessing aerial infrastructure.
  • Support field activities involving telecommunications and utility facilities.
  • Assist with locating aerial network components and utility structures.
  • Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and transportation.
  • Support general field operations as directed by project supervision.

Safety and Traffic Control

  • Implement traffic control measures when required.
  • Follow all OSHA, utility, and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct job hazard assessments before work activities begin.
  • Maintain awareness of overhead power facilities and other potential hazards.
  • Ensure work activities are conducted safely around roadways, pedestrians, and utility

infrastructure.

Equipment and Vehicle Care

  • Maintain company vehicles and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Report vehicle or equipment deficiencies promptly.
  • Ensure all required safety equipment is available and operational.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating bucket trucks or utility service vehicles.
  • Experience working in telecommunications, utility, construction, or outside plant environments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong commitment to safety and situational awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL License (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Traffic Control Certification
  • Telecommunications or Fiber Optic Construction Experience
  • Experience working around aerial utility infrastructure
  • Utility Locator or OSP Experience

Pay: $24.95 - $30.05 per hour

Work Location: In person

Salary : $25 - $30
