Duties
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner, providing excellent customer service and upselling additional items when appropriate
- Manage food inventory levels, restock supplies, and assist with food handling procedures to ensure freshness and quality
- Support food preparation activities such as slicing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and packaging products efficiently
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and maintaining overall restaurant cleanliness to promote a safe and inviting environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafés, or grocery stores is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell menu items confidently
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations accurately
- Previous restaurant or retail experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Capable of standing for extended periods while performing duties in a fast-paced setting
