Gap Year Premed Student – Clinical Assistant (Medical Assistant / Front Desk)

Job description

We are seeking a motivated gap year pre-medical student who has completed their undergraduate studies and plans to apply to medical or osteopathic school. This role offers valuable hands-on clinical experience in a psychiatric outpatient setting, working closely under the supervision of board-certified physicians.

This position is ideal for candidates looking to strengthen their clinical exposure, patient interaction skills, and understanding of healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

• administrative and clinical support services, including front desk operations, scheduling, assisting in TMS and esketamine treatments, and assisting with patient flow. You are expected to carry out your duties professionally, independently,
• Assist with patient intake and vital signs collection
• Support physicians and clinical staff during patient visits
• Perform front desk duties including scheduling, check-in/check-out, and patient communication
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records
• Ensure a professional and welcoming environment for patients

Qualifications

• undergrad degree completed (or completing imminently)
• Intention to apply to MD or DO programs
• Prior experience with patient vitals strongly preferred
• EMT training or certification is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Professional, reliable, and patient-centered

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
