Suburban Lawn and Garden was started in the early 1950's as a lawn mowing business. In the fifty plus years since, Suburban has grown into a multi-faceted retail, wholesale and service organizations dedicated to the principles of growing superior products, providing excellent service and always delivering great value.
What You Will Do
Suburban works to provide outstanding customer service and product knowledge while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Garden Center Associate, this means:
- Being friendly and professional, and responding quickly to customer and associate needs.
- Ensuring merchandise is stocked and presented appropriately for customers.
- Engaging in safe work practices and encouraging others to do the same.
- Care for plant material
- Unload new plant material as it arrives
- Answer department phone calls as needed
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the department
All employees support our mission by providing excellent customer service through greeting customers, responding to customer inquiries, and assisting them in locating, selecting, loading merchandise and processing sales and returns. This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you may be asked to help with other duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Must be able to work in all-weather types and potentially the extremes: wet and cold, or hot and dry
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Minimally must be able to lift 10 pounds without assistance; may lift over 10 pounds with or without assistance.
