We’re Hiring An Experienced Superintendent

This is not a role for someone learning how to run work.

At Subsurface, the Superintendent is a senior field leader responsible for directing day-to-day jobsite execution in coordination with the Project Manager and General Superintendent. You are responsible for safety, quality, schedule, and production—and for leading crews and subcontractors to deliver work as designed.

If you believe successful projects are driven by preparation, discipline, and accountability—and fail through delay, indecision, and lack of ownership—keep reading.

If you are uncomfortable making decisions, holding people accountable, or owning outcomes, this role is not for you.

The Mission

Your mission is to safely deliver geotechnical construction projects on time, to plan, and without quality failures.

Success In This Role Means

  • The jobsite operates safely—every day.
  • Work is built to plans, specifications, and Subsurface standard procedures.
  • Production aligns with the weekly plan.
  • Issues are identified early and resolved before work stops.
  • Clients and project teams can rely on your communication and follow-through.

Speed without safety, quality, or reliability is failure.

Who This Role Is For

  • Is honest about job conditions, progress, and risk.
  • Leads crews with respect while enforcing standards.
  • Is self-motivated and takes full ownership of outcomes.

  • Is reliable in execution, reporting, and commitments.
  • Is fair and consistent in managing performance and expectations.

You Perform Best When

  • Complete testing and submit data to Engineer.
  • Manages performance of direct reports.
  • Submits material delivery information, Visa, and Lowes Pro expenses daily.

  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment (equipment, vehicle, job site, materials, tools).
  • Identifies and informs the Project Manager of the need for change orders when they occur.
  • Manage the completion of all Punch Lists.
