Elementary Autistic School Support PCA

STS is now hiring an Autistic Support Personal Care Assistant in Brecknock Elementary School, Eastern Lancaster County SD.

Our ideal candidates are highly-qualified and can take direction from the teacher or faculty leader to assist and support their student/students in all capacities of educational, behavioral, and emotional benefits in a professional manner with respect for confidentiality.

~Hourly Rate: $17.25
~Schedule: Monday through Friday following student calendar
~Hours: 8:30am-3:45pm (unpaid, 30 min duty-free lunch)

A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) supports elementary students in an autistic support classroom by assisting with personal care, academic participation, behavior support, and daily routines. PCAs work closely with teachers and support staff to promote student safety, independence, and success in a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and classroom support throughout the school day.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, and other daily living needs as required.
• Support classroom instruction, transitions, and school activities.
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow student IEPs and behavior plans under staff direction.
• Encourage communication, social skills, independence, and positive behavior.
• Maintain student safety and communicate effectively with school staff.

Required Background and Health Documents:

• Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) must be within 1 year
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) must be within 1 year
• FBI Criminal History Record (Act 114) must be within 1 year
• Proof of a TB test within 3 months

Required Education Level: High School Diploma or GED

Additional Training may be required dependent upon position.
