Pay: Starting at $20.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Approximately 8:30 AM – 3:45 PM
Location: Central Manor Elementary School – Penn Manor School District
Position Summary
As an Autistic Support Aide, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students with autism in an elementary school setting. You'll help students build confidence, develop independence, and achieve success throughout the school day.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support for students with autism.
- Assist students with classroom assignments and daily routines.
- Implement teacher-directed instructional and behavioral strategies.
- Encourage positive social interactions and communication skills.
- Support students in achieving Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation when required.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with children, special education, autism, behavioral health, childcare, or human services is preferred but not required.
- Reliable, patient, compassionate, and professional.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass all required background clearances and meet school district employment requirements.
