DESCRIPTION:
Substitute teachers receive short term assigments to cover teacher absences from classroom, and are responsible for following lesson plans to maintain and further student learning. Successful applicants will receive assignments through Frontline substitute scheduling system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires at minimum a 30 day Substitute Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Candidates can qualify to apply for this Permit if they have a Bachelor's degree
- All Candidates need to have a Certificate of Clearance on the CTC before being authorized to work. This link will lead to the information candidates need to fulfill this requirement.
Important Information Regarding the Basic Skills Requirement:
- On June 29, 2024, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a budget trailer bill, SB 153 (Chap. 38, Statutes of 2024), that allows candidates to use their bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (IHE) as demonstration of the basic skills requirement, effective immediately. REQUIREMENTS FOR HIRE
All applicants must:
- Complete application for this position (including two references, including one from a Supervisor)
- To expedite hire processing, candidates may gather the following materials - (these will be requested during onboarding):
- Negative TB test current within past 60 days
- Sealed copies of all college transcripts
- Valid Driver's License, ID card, Permanent Residency Card or current US passport
- Social Security Card (no copies)
