GS-12: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer applying engineering principles and theories as they relate to architecture, mechanical and/or electrical engineering or to use engineering technologies to understand and apply new developments for design, construction, maintenance, modernization, or repairs of submarines.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Duties
- You will support a variety of submarine systems, components, and platforms.
- You will apply professional/technical aspects of engineering procedures and methods as well as standardized approaches common in the fields of mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering and naval architecture.
- You will perform work relating to the form, strength, stability, performance, and operational characteristics of marine structures and waterborne vessels.
- You will be involved in the maintenance of mechanical devices and systems and their equipment and/or components.
- You will develop and continually review procedures to ensure effective management and control of assigned programs.
- You will represent SUBMEPP in discussions, conferences, meetings with technical and managerial personnel within and external to SUBMEPP to discuss and resolve technical and programmatic problems.
- You will anticipate future requirements, assess the value and effort of new developments, and apply the latest technological advances to program operations.
